This is the most ludicrous thing I have ever read. Have STA operators been listened to at all? If the recommendations in this report are put into practice, there will be a detrimental impact on our tourism industry and an increase in our taxes. The issues presented in this report have already been debunked by many property owners writing into Bruce Peninsula Press and attending public meetings. It's all a bunch of made up gobbly goop to increase taxes and fees in the municipality on the backs of hard-working people who shouldn't have their private property rights infringed on.
Question for discussion: Commerical accommodation businesses, the municipality's bank account, and neighbours with a bad attitude benefit from these suggestions; how does the modest STA operator or tourist benefit from this red tape and added levies? Where's the win-side for them?
